One of our key tasks when working with our members is talking to them about upcoming school holiday’s, long weekends, key celebration dates i.e. mother’s day, father’s day and upcoming theatre, concerts and sporting events we can book for them to enjoy with their friends, family and colleagues.

Open your creativity with NIDA’s holiday classes. Designed specifically for children and young people, NIDA offers a fun and supportive learning environment that unlocks creative potential and builds confidence.
Some of the fabulous courses include
Monster Zoo – Grades K-2
Turn your favourite animated and computer game stories into a real-life adventure! Invent a monster or character inspired by popular computer games or animated characters and design a unique world for your character to live in. Create real life adventures, work on team challenges and create a short presentation for family and friends.
Ghouls, Ghosts and Goblins: Screen Acting – Grades 3-6
Get ready for some freaky fun as you discover what lurks in the shadows and meet the creatures that go bump in the night! Explore NIDA screen acting technique, improvisation and character development, work with well-known scripts from popular ghoulish films such as Casper and Coraline. This course includes a session with green screen technology. Present recorded and live scenes for friends and family at the end of the course.
The Peach Factory, Grades 3-6
Riddle, fly and rhyme your way through Roald Dahl’s most famous stories adapted for the stage including James and the Giant Peach, Fantastic Mr Fox or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Be introduced to acting and voice technique for live performance, rehearse scenes from your favourite Roald Dahl stage plays then present your rehearsed scenes to family and friends at the end of the course.
Space School, Grades K-1
Walk on the moon, swing on a star and discover new planets in an out-of-this world acting adventure. Make space costume pieces from craft materials, create intergalactic characters then adventure through the outer reaches of the universe. Invite friends and family to join you for Space School graduation at the end of the day! Space School is a fun way to introduce younger school aged children to a full-day Drama School style program at NIDA.
NIDA Bites, Grades 3-6
Be challenged by a smorgasbord of several drama skills in one day. Be introduced to voice, movement, improvisation and acting skills in a taste test of what NIDA has to offer.
Space Travellers: Intergalactic Adventures, Grades K-2
Fly to the moon, swing on a star but beware the black hole! Create intergalactic characters and explore the outer reaches of the universe in an out-of-this-world acting adventure. Devise scenes based on the characters you create and present your scenes for family and friends at the end of the course.
Snow Queen and Slippers: Mini Musical Grades K-2
Sing, move and shine like a star in a mini musical adventure. Learn songs from popular film and stage musicals including Frozen, Cinderella or Mary Poppins. Create simple movement routines and develop characters inspired by the musical stories.
